NEMPS: North Eastern Medical Pharmacological Society
The North Eastern Medical Pharmacological Society (NEMPS) is a registered professional organization that brings together a growing network of medical pharmacologists from across the North-Eastern region of India. Formed in 2021 and officially registered under the Societies Registration Act in 2022, NEMPS aims to serve as a collaborative platform for knowledge sharing, research advancement, professional development, and academic excellence in the field of pharmacology.
Our Vision
To become a leading regional forum that unites and empowers medical pharmacologists, promoting the advancement of pharmacological sciences for improved healthcare outcomes in North-East India and beyond.
Our Objectives
• To foster collaboration among pharmacologists for the promotion of research, education, and evidence-based clinical practice.
• To support academic institutions in improving pharmacology teaching and curriculum development.
• To facilitate continuous professional development through seminars, conferences, workshops, and publications.
• To engage with regulatory bodies, healthcare institutions, and policymakers to advocate for the rational and ethical use of medicines.
• To promote region-specific pharmacological research addressing the unique health needs of the North-Eastern population.
What we do?

Our registered office is located at the Department of Pharmacology, Tezpur Medical College, Assam—positioning us at the heart of a region known for its unique healthcare challenges and diverse population. As a regional body, NEMPS reflects the collective aspirations of pharmacologists working in medical institutions, research centers, and healthcare facilities across the eight North-Eastern states of India.
Membership is open to all qualified medical pharmacologists and professionals engaged in pharmacological teaching or research in the North-Eastern region. Members benefit from networking opportunities, academic resources, participation in events, and access to research collaborations.
